How Fandom Stands with Ukraine

March 4, 2022

I remain inspired by the fortitude, fearlessness, and conviction of the Ukrainian people, but I also continue to be saddened by the tragedy of the Russian invasion. It's very personal for me as I have Ukrainian friends and we also have our colleagues next door in Poland, where we have a large office in Poznan. Fandom is committed to our community-first stance and, in support of our fans and communities in Poland and Ukraine, we're focusing on where we can have the most impact right now, and that's largely through donating to key humanitarian organizations. Here's what we're doing:

  • Fandom is donating $100,000 to the Ukraine Red Cross and the Polish Red Cross to support the refugee crisis and following the best-practice guidance of the Poland Gov't Website.

  • We've partnered with WPP and the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR to donate 5 million ad impressions for a pro bono emergency fundraising appeal across 50 countries.

  • Fanatical is donating sales proceeds from the anti-war game "This War of Mine," which directly tackles the suffering and misery of civilians affected by war. In tandem with 11 Bit Studios, Fanatical also launched an 80%-off promotion, with all proceeds being donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross to support victims of war in Ukraine.

  • We have no active media sales from Russian or Belarussian state-backed businesses or entities and will not entertain any in the foreseeable future.

We will continue to communicate if Fandom will take further action on the humanitarian front. Our thoughts remain focused on the Ukrainian people and our teammates in Poland, Europe, and anyone who may have direct connections with loved ones in Ukraine.
